Clarity is Queen

If you do any online marketing whatsoever you have heard the phrase “Content is King”. That was first declared back in 1996 and it’s as true as it has ever been, thanks to its author, Bill Gates.

“Content is where I expect much of the real money will be made on the Internet, just as it was in broadcasting.”  — Bill Gates

We can all attest to that, can’t we? Every day my inbox is jammed with offers, programs and trainings, and my Facebook page with sponsored ads from everything from how to find Mr. Right to fixing what’s wrong with my website. You know why? Because…

“One of the exciting things about the Internet is that anyone with a PC and a modem can publish whatever content they can create.”   — Bill Gates

Fast forward 21 years and we are inundated with all that content. And so much of it is frankly loaded with too many messages, ideas and clutter that I do what most of us do.

Tune out.

It’s a scientific fact that the human brain does not have the capacity to curate too many messages at once, especially if they are confusing. Copywriters know this. That is why when we get an assignment to write a piece of copy, it always has one central message. That’s right, ONE MESSAGE. And great marketers know the magic of driving a single, strong, clear, core message – delivered over and over and over again. Can you say cha-ching?

So Bill, if Content is King, then I say Clarity is Queen!

If there is only one thing you can do to grow your business this coming year, make it to get VERY CLEAR on what you core message is, and then run with it! I promise you, it will pay off in so many ways.

If you need some help with that, I invite you to join me for a 1/2 day immersion “Creating from Core: How to Get to the Soul of Your Brand and Connect with Your Customers More Deeply Than Ever Before”.
