26 Mar Thrilled to be elected!
Earlier this week, I posed the question, “Can COVID-19 be sustainability’s big break?” Whether that’s a yes, no or maybe for you, it’s definitely having a life-changing impact on the planet. Which makes what I am about to tell you even more timely.
I am thrilled to say I have been elected to the board of Green America by their business network members. My company, Mind Over Markets, has been a business member for over a decade and a half, so this is especially meaningful to me.
If you are not familiar with Green America, they are based in Washington DC and their mission is to harness economic power — the strength of consumers, investors, businesses, and the marketplace — to create a socially just and environmentally sustainable society. They have been at this for almost 40 years and have made industry-altering impacts that you have probably enjoyed the benefits of but don’t even know it. It is mind-blowing really, so I feel exceptionally honored.
When I accepted this board position at the end of last year, however, I had no idea what was about to unfold globally. This position to me is more important than ever as the world is changing faster than we can imagine. I know in my heart of hearts, sustainability and climate action are paramount to the health and wellbeing of our human family and all living things. Frankly, the coronavirus is a wake-up call.
My very special thanks to Alisa Gravitz, CEO and President; Fran Teplitz, Executive Co-Director of Business, Investing & Policy; my buddy Scott Kitson, Membership Marketing Manager; and all the members of the business network for having faith and trust in me to work with them in fostering a new era of environmental integrity and interconnection on the planet at this uncertain time.
